Yes, there is this feature.  And it's useful.  However, my more specific
point was that this kind of 'save search' requires a re-running of the
search, whereas a "smart group" feature would be a 'group' that
constantly kept up with things that match that search.

In iTunes, for example, if you make a smart playlist, with the match
criterion of "Artist = Ami Mann", then when you added songs by that
artist, they would be in the playlist.  You don't re-execute a search
for those.

But, the feature you describe is *very* useful and it's good that you
mention this in the context of this discussion.
