Re: endnote-interest-digest V1 #2415 Response to 2415 only

I'm not an expert but will give it my best shot.

The first thing is if you have Endnote X1 then you can go to the programs in the start menu and click on configure endnote.

(Make sure endnote and Word are not open)
Yay! this might have worked

2nd.  If this does not work.  Open Microsoft Office 2007 (does not work yet with 2008).  
Click on the meatball at the upper left corner of the screen (microsoft calls it something canneverremember what but it looks like a meatball) 
Go to Word Options
Go to Com Add-ins
Make sure that Cite while you write is checked.
You may have to click out of Word and go back into it, go back to the com add in after you reopen Word and make sure it is still checked if so exit it and close Word.  Even though this should work now, I always like to go back and click on the "configure endnote"  

You should be set.  

If this does not work make sure word is enabled for third party add ins, you can check your security settings.  But I find the easiest thing to do is to go to Sun systems and install the ODF add-in,  I installed a german one so I don't think it matters.(mine is called ODF Add-in FÜr Word 2007)  Then word will get annoyed when it opens and say some things to you, no worries just click on the links and install the plug in they have to let you use the ODF plug in.  

Hopefully you didn't have to get that far, but it is nice to know you can open up openoffice docs in Word (thanks Sun).

If you do not have cite while you write.  make sure that Microsoft is enabled to install third party plug ins.
