"Endnote is waiting for user information"

I am using X1, Word 2007, and Vista.

 

I had to reinstall all of my programs after getting a new motherboard on
my laptop.

 

Now, whenever I insert citations, I get the error message "Endnote is
waiting for user information". It takes forever to insert a citation,
and then also when editing the citation.

 

Is there any way to resolve this? I have plenty of memory on my machine,
and I did not encounter this problem before my hardware changes, even
when working in the same document.
