Hello, You could use "Edit Citation" and remove the author and date, then type in the prefix box: as we all know [smith 2000] The result should appear as: ... plants consume CO2 (as we all know [smith 2000]) for their carbon source. And the bibliography will still format the reference in the appropriate style.
