I really wish Github was an option here, as it really would make contributions so so much easier. As I've mentioned before, I'd be happy to help with that in any way. I can very much see it as a standalone, top level project (i.e. snowball.apache.org), as Snowball is such a fundamental part of so many language processing tools these days, I'd hate to see it languish.
