A government memo saying a railway was hacked in a targeted attack was=20
incorrect, according to a spokeswoman for the Association of American=20
Railroads.

=E2=80=9CThere was no targeted computer-based attack on a railroad,=E2=80=

to spokeswoman Holly Arthur. =E2=80=9CThe memo on which the story was bas=
ed has=20
numerous inaccuracies.=E2=80=9D

Asked if there was an =E2=80=9Cuntargeted=E2=80=9D incident that disrupte=
d train service=20
nonetheless, Arthur declined to comment, leaving the public in the dark=20
about what exactly was right and wrong in the memo.

A DHS spokesman had previously told Threat Level on Tuesday that the=20
incident wasn=E2=80=99t a =E2=80=9Ctargeted=E2=80=9D attack, but refused =
to provide additional=20
details to explain the exact nature of the incident that affected the=20
railway service.

Sources, who asked not to be identified, have told Threat Level that the=20
person who wrote the memo misunderstood what was said about the incident=20
in a meeting and wrote that it was a targeted attack focused on the=20
railway, when in fact it was not targeted at the railroad.
