TEHRAN, Iran -- A senior Iranian military official said Monday that=20
Tehran=E2=80=99s nuclear and other industrial facilities suffer periodic =
cyber=20
attacks, but that the country has the technology to protect itself from=20
the threat, an official news agency reported.

Iran considers itself to have been waging a complicated cyber war since=20
2010, when a virus known as Stuxnet disrupted controls of some nuclear=20
centrifuges.

=E2=80=9CMost enemy threats target nuclear energy sites as well as electr=
onic=20
trade and banking operations,=E2=80=9D said Gholam Reza Jalali, who heads=
 an=20
Iranian military unit in charge of combatting sabotage.

Jalali said that in addition to Stuxnet, Iran has discovered two=20
espionage viruses, Stars and Doku, but that the malware did no harm to=20
Iran=E2=80=99s nuclear or industrial sites.

Iran says Stuxnet and other computer virus attacks are part of a=20
concerted campaign by Israel, the U.S. and their allies to undermine its=20
nuclear program.
