Drives me nuts too.  I have taken to Cc'ing the person who originally
wrote me so that at least he will see what I wrote.  And, I
have noticed when I Cc, it tends to get through to the list more often.

I have sent the list owner a bazillion questions as to why,
but he just ignores me.  I think the list filter is broken
and no one is maintaining it (or he is on an extended vacation).
Probably some key word that the filter doesn't like.
