In addition to learning UNIX, it would also be a good idea for you to learn Cisco IOS and to pursue getting your CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) certification. Having the CCNA allows you to pursue higher-level Cisco certifications, including the Cisco Security Specialist 1 certification, which would also be good for you to get.
