Greetings all,
On that note - I was hoping someone would have some suggetions or tips for
me. FIrst off, I have been actively working with pcs since the days of
coleco vision and those IBM pcs with no hard drives - I am 24 years old
now. I have a BS in Computer Science, CCNA, MSCE, CCSA , A+, and Network
+ and about 3 yrs experience in the helpdesk and Lan admin field. I am
pretty good in security issue, I have been an irc guy for years, and have
played around with scanners/sniffers/intrusion detection toys. However I
still cannot find a position higher than that of helpdesk for quite some
time. I am one exam away from CCNP, and studying for CISSP now. Does
anyone have any job search/interview tips or resume tips? I also have UNIX
experience. Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Angelo

Hi, Pierre! Thanks for your message, which you sent to the
[email protected] mailing list, about your plan to become a
network security specialist.
In addition to learning UNIX, it would also be a good idea for
you to learn
Cisco IOS and to pursue getting your CCNA (Cisco Certified Network
Associate)
certification. Having the CCNA allows you to pursue higher-level Cisco
certifications, including the Cisco Security Specialist 1 certification,
which
would also be good for you to get. Take care, and best of luck to you in
achieving your goals!
