socket error

I'm having issues getting sasl working on a FreeBSD box. The error is as 
follows:

(connect to domain.com[/var/imap/socket/lmtp]: Permission denied)

Would someone point me in the right direction? I've triple checked the 
configs and I can't see anything wrong.
