Postfix and cyrus-sasl-lib are installed by default on CentOS 7. Edit /etc/sasl2/smtpd.conf with pwcheck_method: auxprop mech_list: plain login Create your /etc/sasldb2 running saslpassd2 -u localhost roelof And finally enable SMTP AUTH for Postfix by postconf -e "smtpd_sasl_auth_enable=yes" systemctl restart postfix (Note: once finished these basics move on and enable SMTP AUTH only for submission and remove it from SMTP port 25.)
