Hello,

I do not use DIGEST-MD5, DIGEST-MD5 is removed from upstream Cyrus SASL, so=
soon or late it will disappear. Does the problem resolve, if you disable =
DIGEST-MD5?

Otherwise please=C2=A0
=E2=80=A2 install the debug symbols for Cyrus IMAP and perl,=C2=A0
=E2=80=A2 create core dump (call =C2=ABulimit -c unlimited=C2=BB before exe=
cuting =C2=ABcyradm -u cyrus localhost=C2=BB), then=C2=A0
=E2=80=A2 get the backtrace from the coredump (ideally fullbacktrace, thus =
including values of the variables) and
=E2=80=A2 share the backtrace.

Instead of dealing with backtraces and coredumps, after installing debug sy=
mbols, you can run=C2=A0

$ valgrind --memcheck:leak-check=3Dfull --num-callers=3D30 --memcheck:track=
-origins=3Dyes --read-var-info=3Dyes --memcheck:show-leak-kinds=3Dall --err=
or-limit=3Dno --trace-children=3Dyes cyradm -u cyrus localhost 2> valgrind-=
report

and then share the valgrind-report file.

Kind regards
  Dilyan

Hello,

I use FreeBSD 14.0 release.
I'm trying to use Cyrus-IMAPd 3.8 with Cyrus-SASLauthd, I've built them fro=
m ports or from packages but I ultimately face the same issue : When I reac=
h the moment where I have to configure cyradm, there's an error that I cann=
ot understand or debug.

cyradm -u cyrus localhost
Password: ********
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

I don't know where to start investigation, I went to the logs but there onl=
y was the same error without any pointers.

tail -f /var/log/messages
Dec 16 22:13:25 ***=C2=A0imap[65949]: SASL couldn't init cipher
Dec 16 22:13:25 *** imap[65949]: login: localhost [127.0.0.1] cyrus DIGEST-=
MD5 User logged in SESSIONID=3D<****.****.***-1702761200-65949-1-1191066955=
5581225800>
Dec 16 22:13:25 ***=C2=A0kernel: pid 65948 (perl), jid 0, uid 0: exited on =
signal 11 (core dumped)
Someone has any clue about how identify that problem here ?
Google didn't help on that one...

Thanks,
