 I have seen this as well, I always uncheck that box because it forces the
pptp client to use the net thru the tunnel, I don't want my web surfing to
go thru the tunnel.

If he unticks it, they will no longer surf through the tunnel.  Make sure
you have the default rule on the pptp network.  It works fine here...
