Hi, just some feedback to the subject:
2048 keylength definitively works with monowall.
It looks the issue was caused trough using openssl 1.0.0 
2048 Certs and keys generated with openssl 0.9.8(x) work nicely. 

Q: could it be that mini_httpd works only with RSA certificates?
