Dear All This is what I found from pfSense FAQ for blocking web sites: http://doc.pfsense.org/index.php/Blocking_websites Using DNS If using the built in DNS Forwarder, you can enter an override under Services > DNS Forwarder to resolve the website you want to block to an invalid IP (such as 127.0.0.1). I guess that answers my own questions :) Although a feature like untangle would certainly be nice, which is a page to greet user when their websites are blocked, like captive portal page. Thanks, I guess I am sticking to m0n0wall for now :) unless someone has something else to add? I did not see it anywhere in their web page about it. Vouchers in captive portal is very important for me to give temporary internet access to guests. Can you elaborate the features of pfSense vs m0n0wall? And can pfSense perform web filtering like what I would like to have with the case of playboy.com? Mine is a core2 duo with 2 > GB RAM and a pair of pfSense, aka "the full-featured version of m0n0wall", might be an option. It has packages for content filtering. Downside is that the hardware demands are higher than that of m0n0wall. If you alredy consider a "sizeable machine", check it out. - Klaus --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [email protected] For additional commands, e-mail: [email protected] --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [email protected] For additional commands, e-mail: [email protected]
