Not usre....I have ever only needed to have a single PPTP VPN client
behind my Smoothwall.

Installing mods that upgrade the kernel are unlikely to cause issues when
a new update is released by the Smoothwall team....although if an official
update provides a newer kernel, you'll need to re-modify the kernel for
multiple PPTP passthrough support again.
