From a console on the smoothwall box ?  You can get a shell.  

I can't see lynx, so you may be without the conforts of the web gui 
(unless you install lynx or somesuch).  Just tried looking at the 
smoothie web interface through lynx - looks usable.  

Obviously, from a shell you can do everything you can do from the web-ui.
But, its not sugar coated, and you get nearly infinite rope.

I personally find the shell quite usefull for troubleshooting rough 
edges like log rotation.

Of course you can get a shell over ssh, so the only point to such a
console (aside from troubleshooting when you have no lan connection)
would be to shut down all remote admin.  A worthy goal, but not
evident in the smoothwall design.
