        We moved to producing data on hard drive some time ago. As you said, images are getting bigger but so are the options for production media. The small USB powered notebook-drive based portable drive units are large enough to hold a good amount of data (~160GB these days), as simple as plugging in a USB thumb drive, and pretty cheap (<$150). If you need write-protected drive options you'll probably have to assemble something yourself but still, there are options out there.

As the drives are getting larger and larger it is becoming more of a
pain to submit forensic images on optical media.  Any
thoughts/experience with the following:

1) preference/insistence by courts of forensic images on specific type
of media (hard disk drive, optical media, tape)

2) pricing/reliability/recommendations of cd/dvd autoloader to automate
copying of image files to DVD's
