Fedora 9 configurations with Prelude+ Snort 2.8

Hi I followed the instructions from http://people.redhat.com/sgrubb/audit/prelude.txt very carefully till the end. Prewikka works fine I think. I'm facing some problems with snort. I did the modifications that are in the prelude.txt also I downloaded and copied the rules, I also tried and added them through oinkmaster. For testing I added an extra rule in local.rules that I created: alert tcp any any -> any any (msg:"TCP packet Test";) I restarted snort service. Nothing was showing in Prewikka. Are there any manuals about how exactly I should install snort sensor? Are there any configurations to be done in mysql about snort?
