Hello,

For run with systemd as a Daemon process firstly you should check if it run at a launch :

'systemctl start snort'

If it work good you should run this :

'systemctl enable snort'

With this line on command more top snort will work at each startup of your setup and too in background,

You should check too what line of command work for your task systemd for this you should launch this :

'systemctl status snort'

After this line of command you should check what is typed after the line " exectstart=thelineofcommandlaunchedbysystemd "

If this isn't good you should type in your system this : " ExectStart=yourgoodlineofcommandwanted "

Finally for check the good line of command is run at each startup you should type "reboot" then after the reboot you type "systemctl status snort'" then you check what is the line of command launched by systems,

I hope your success,

Thanks you in advance for your answer,

Regards.

Subject: Re: [Snort-users] RE : Problem snort

Hello

I did find it in /etc/init.d/snort I have a command to let it work as a daemon. My teacher recommend to let it work in systemd instead of init, but I don't know how that works.

Greetings
Tuur Six
