If you've ever struggled with the manual setup of a Snort-based IDS on
Windows, I've just released an updated automated installers over at
Winsnort.com.
The WinIDS v2.4 (IIS/Apache2 MySQL/PostgreSQL Builds) handles the entire
setup on a fresh OS install-from pulling the necessary support files to
configuring the database and web server. It's designed to get you from a
clean desktop to a functioning IDS console in about 15 minutes.
