Please check / review these three list for possible issues.

My Snort service on my Netgate 6100 running pfSense kept turning itself off and I was not able to restart it.

I ran through a process of shutting services off to see where the problem was. I think I narrowed it down to one of three Services / Snort / Interface Settings / -Categories, and rulesets in the Emerging threat column.

-emerging-drop.rules
-emerging-dshield.rules
-emerging-exploit.rules

When I turned these three rules off on each interface, I was able to restart the Snort server on each interface.

Kind Regards
Paul
