This is running on a Windows 2000 machine with Snort 2.0 and snortsnarf. Installed via the silicondefense.com manual. Installing Active Perly 5.6 removed the "reference to array" errors generated by the snortsnarf.pl script. alert.ids was not updating with new data before so I removed all references to it in the registry and reinstalled the service via the snort /SERVICE /INSTALL with the -c -l switches and made sure my paths were correct. After this, the alert.ids began to update regularly and included new data. You could also probably use the snort /SERVICE /UNINSTALL to remove it. The trouble comes in when I try to run the snortsnarf.pl script. It keeps generating the "first_last method" error due to the HTMLMemeStorage.pm and then deletes the index.html, topdest.html, and topsrc.html pages from the /htdocs/logs directory. Where is the "first_last" error coming from and is there a way to fix this? Thanks, Kyle T. ___________________________________________________ GO.com Mail Get Your Free, Private E-mail at http://mail.go.com
