Hello GSRao, I did the same thing for my GCIA practical assignment. I wanted to base the entire paper on my Apache open proxy honeypot deployement that I used to sponsor the Honeynet Project's Scan of the Month Challenge last April - http://www.honeynet.org/scans/scan31/ If you want to use one topic to satisfy your GCIA practical requirements, you should get prior approval from SANS. Contact them with your proposal - [email protected] One word of caution - you MUST address all practical requirements. Sometimes it becomes difficult to accomplish when you are using a "themed" topic. I just missed earning Honors due to minor issues with following the guidelines - http://www.giac.org/GCIA_assign_40.php for an example assigment requirements. Good luck. Most Respectfully, Ryan C.
