In ares where I have lived, this seems to be more commonly used by girls
than
by boys AND is even used by girls when they are speaking only to a group of
girls.  It's been common for about twent some years.

But a caution.  The "y'all" should only be used when speaking of more
than one, otherwise you will let everyone know you are not a southerner.
