has now been upped to 4 bytes from 1 byte. mihi's problem is also solved too (code committed, and I'll mail you the source shortly mihi), as the message ids were cycling faster than messages could be retrieved. from the cvs commit: Made message id 4 bytes, as ids should be unique per router at a time. 1 byte gets overloaded w/ mihi's test. 2 bytes gives us room to breath, but for a large router handling hundreds of high activity destinations, 64k may not be enough. 3 is, well, silly. If a router requires having > 4 billion pending messages, well, we'll deal with that then. -jrandom [who is now wondering if we should have an iip-cvs list w/ commit logs...
