Lance,
Yes point me to the code, if someone can get to it before me the
easiest way to solve this problem is to make that text box full
screen and modal OR subclass the desktop window so that you get the
WM_MOUSEMOVE messages that arive on the desktop window. (The second
option is not quite as deterministic because of all the other windows
that may be on the desktop will get the mouse move message and you
will have to subclass them all...) I don't know if it will work (it
has been a while) but I THINK that if that text box is system modal
it will get all of the mouse move messages, but that can be annoying
to the user because they wont even be able to activate any other
window until the system modal window goes away.

The status bar will definitely help as a visual aid.

Point me to the code and I will take a look.

/peace/

Tony,

The issue is that it's if you move your mouse around within the box
it will work, but we need to either make that more clear, or add a
bar line percentage gui, or figure out how it can look at the entire
movement of the mouse.

If you want to take a stab, I can guide you where that portion of the
code is.

Lance
