Interesting that you should ask ;-)

For exactly one week ago I installed IPCop on a brand new APU as my old
ALIX (which I have been happy with for many years) where starting to get
a bit "tired" (starting to generate some "out of memory" after updating
to 2.1.9).

I did have some hassle installing IPCop on the new HW as (from my point
of view) the "install kernel" does not "support" serial console.
I tried to change the bootloader to include "console=ttyS0,115200n8" on
the APPEND line, but this did not work. I also tried to do a PXE-boot
but it was the same issue here + iPXE (which the APU uses) is not 100%
compatible to "normal" PXE.

I ended up putting the SDD that I wanted to use in the APU into an old
PC, booted of the IPCop-Install-CD and started the installation there.
After the install was finished I customized the "extlinux.conf" file
(adding support for serial-console).

I hope I will be as happy with the APU as I was with the ALIX.
