RED not connecting automatically

I just applied a bunch of software updates to my IPCop box. Now the RED interface doesn't connect automatically. It's a static Ethernet connection. I can only get it to connect by clicking the Connect button on the index page. Is there some new setting that I'm missing. I ran the setup program and all of my settings seem to be correct.
