Hi all Many thanks for all the replies and encouragement on and off list. I'm going to go back and do a fresh install of 2.1.8/2.1.9. The ever-helpful Windows Network Diagnostics on a Green client alleged a DNS failure, but from the system logs dnsmasq is working just fine. That I can successfully do nslookup and dig from Green suggests the same. However I guess it wouldn't hurt to add in Google DNS as a secondary in case the ISP has a problem. I think I've tripped up by adding rules for http and https, because at the bottom of the firewall rule screen is a rate-limiting gotcha that appears to be set by default at 10 ops per hour. When I first tested the firewall with no rules and no proxy, http worked just fine. I added rules for IMAP and SMTP because mail wasn't working and added http and https at the same time. That looks like my mistake.
