Red PPPoE Interface speed

Hello I am running an Alix SBC with 3 ethernet ports. I am building a fresh new IPCop installation. The red interface is PPPoE to a fibre interface. The Green interface show 100Mbps full duplex. The IPCop is not yet connected to the internet. Under >>Status>System Info> Link State, the red interface shows 10Mbps, half duplex. I currently run ADSL2 with measured speed of 8Mbps. The plan I have purchased is for 100Mbps. The settings specified by my ISP are here <https://www.spark.co.nz/help/internet-data/getstarted/broadband-settings-for-third-party-modems/settings-for-spark-fibre/>. I am waiting for the ISP to install fibre into the house. According to the ISP the maximum theoretical download speed you will attain is 100Mbps, while your upload maximum theoretical speed is 50Mbps. Actual speeds with Ethernet cable connected from your device to the residential gateway and not via WiFi will typically range from 90Mbps or more. My concern is the 10Mbps showing on the red interface. I think it is most likely that this is a initial default setting until a PPPoE connection is made. I would then expect a 100Mbps full duplex connection to be made. Is this correct or do I need to worry. It would be silly if I buy 100Mbps and then have it throttled by IPCop.
