What I had to do additionally was set the B618's IP to 192.168.8.1 instead of .0.1 and set its dhcp to the 192.168.8 range.

Now IPCop gets something like 192.168.8.7 for itself and IPCop presents the dhcp range of 192.168.0.*


Big headache solved. Thanks again,

  I think the Huawei B618 will give an address in the 192.168.8.xxx
