Setting up OpenVPN

Hi I have succeeded in opening a VPN connection with my remote road warrior but he can't get through. The VPN is running and the connection showing Open. The stats show some data flow. He can't ping anything on the green network. I suspect I need to open port 1194 in the firewall rules. Any guidance on this??
