I agree, if you are new you should move to another firewall, ipfire is a clone of ipcop and looks good to me and will be where I migrate to. But to answer your question: Create a port forwarding rule. In IPCop External Destination select your port you want to use from drop down list. Internal Destination select the port you want from the drop down list. In both cases you may need to create a custom service if the port you want to use is not a predefined default service.
