Position: Technical Writer
Location: Alpharetta, Georgia, United States
Type: Permanent F/T
Closing Date: 2008-07-12
Secure Computing’s Knowledge Base (KB) provides a self-help option for our customers containing thousands of troubleshooting tips, hints, and best practices about our products. The goal of the KB Team is to ensure the KB remains a vital and relevant resource for our customers.
Responsibilities
The KB Team writes and edits articles for approximately 20 products. The ideal candidate will have both writing and technical experience. This team works in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment so the ability to work quickly and on multiple projects at a time is a must. Resourcefulness and tenacity will sometimes be required to gather needed information from coworkers outside the project team.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

BA/BS in Technical Communications, English, Education or equivalent combination of applicable experience and education.
2+ years applicable experience.
Familiarity of network operations.
Excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills to coordinate multiple simultaneous projects.
Ability to follow well-defined processes and procedures but provide input to make innovative suggestions in the planning and execution of projects when needed.
A strong self-starting initiative.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Ability to gain proficiency with new software tool(s) within 6 months of training.
Experience in a customer support organization is desirable.
Knowledge of basic HTML is a plus.
