--------------------------------------------------- SECURITYFOCUS JOBS - NEW OPPORTUNITY --------------------------------------------------- JOB DESCRIPTION --------------------------------------------------- Position: Management Location: Woburn, Massachusetts, United States Type: Permanent F/T Closing Date: 2008-09-20 Our client, a leading vendor of Information Security Solutions, is seeking several Professional Services Consultants for its suburban Boston headquarters. This position will require 40-50% national travel to client and partner site, as well as occasional trade show and industry events. Scope of Role The Professional Services Consultant is a customer-facing role responsible for development of customer project requirements documents, solution specifications, project delivery, solution installation, and customer training. The role of Professional Services Consultant is a critical component of the Professional Services team commitment to assist our customer to derive maximum utility from their investment in the firm’s security technology while leveraging the firm’s extensive security expertise. A Professional Services Consultant will provide customer facing services in the areas of project/solution definition, interfacing with the PS architect team, project documentation, project delivery, technology installation and customer training. Responsibilities Development, jointly with customers and with internal subject matter experts, of customer requirements documents Assisting team architects in specifying and documenting proposed custom cryptographic solutions Developing in depth knowledge of the firm’s and competitors’ products and core cryptographic technology Developing detailed project plans utilizing the firm’s standard documentation based on the Prince 2 methodology Preparation and management of project documentation Installation of the firm’s products and training of customers in their proper utilization Management of project delivery including management of internal development deliverables and customer deliverables Assisting the sales teams in development of project opportunities into properly documented projects and deliverables Liaising with PS team members at all office locations Ability to travel (both domestic and internationally) at approximately 50% Other duties as assigned JOB REQUIREMENTS --------------------------------------------------- Education, Experience and Skills requirements Bachelor’s degree, technical area preferred. Strong working knowledge of fundamental information technology security concepts and principals as evidenced by one or more appropriate certifications (e.g. CISSP). A working knowledge of standardized project management techniques. Basic programming skills in common programming languages (e.g. Java, C#, C/C++) Articulate in both written and verbal communication Demonstrable experience working in a stand-alone role (specifically customer facing) A sound working knowledge of common operating systems (Windows, Linux, Solaris, etc) Solid networking skills and the ability to trouble shoot TCP/IP networks Technical depth in some specific area of Information Security preferred. Encryption, HSM, PKI, Data-at-Rest security strongly preferred. A minimum of 5 years in a technical customer facing role as a technical consultant, sales engineer, or other customer centric role.
