Modis is currently seeking a qualified <b><i>Network Security Analyst</b></i> with strong Intrusion Detection / Threat Management experience for an exciting contract opportunity with our client in the Morristown, NJ area.

This project is expected to start within the next 2 weeks and last for an initial duration of 12 months.  There is a very high likelihood of contract extension on this project - candidates with the flexibility to be extended on contract or to be converted as a full time employee are highly preferred.

<b>PROJECT DESCRIPTION</b>

The Network Security Analyst will be responsible for integrating multiple data feeds into a Threat Management / Intrusion Detection platform.  

Day to day responsibilities will include supporting the logical/physical management of the Threat Management/IDS platforms, including a degree of back-end Oracle/SQL database administration, UNIX Systems administration and user access requests.

In addition, candidates will be responsible for the process and health monitoring of the platforms that comprise the Security Information Management Portal. 

Candidates must have hands-on experience with Security Information Management / Intrusion Detection applications such as Snort, Nessus, Intellitactics, ArcSight, etc.  Hands-on system administration is a must.  




JOB REQUIREMENTS

<b>REQUIRED SKILLS</b>

- Strong UNIX, AIX, Linux and /or Solaris Systems / Network Administration skills
- Experience with UNIX Shell Scripts, Korn/ksh, Perl and/or JavaScript for Systems 
Administration in a UNIX environment
- Background experience with Oracle or SQL database administration as it relates to the Security Information Systems
- Thorough knowledge of Security practices, standards and technologies.
- Experience with Cisco PIX / ASA, Nokia CheckPoint, Juniper NetScreen Firewalls and Proxy servers is highly preferred.  Candidates without these technologies should have some degree of firewall experience with similar products.
- Minimum of 2-3 years experience working with Intrusion Detection/ IDS / IPS or Security Information Management (SIM) platforms.  Product specific experience with Snort, Nessus, Intellitactics, ArcSight and/or NetForensics is a must.
