--------------------------------------------------- SECURITYFOCUS JOBS - NEW OPPORTUNITY --------------------------------------------------- JOB DESCRIPTION --------------------------------------------------- Position: Sr. Security Analyst Location: Temple Terrace, Florida, United States Type: Permanent F/T Closing Date: 2008-10-04 The DMTS is responsible for Verizon information security compliance policy management activities to ensure the timely development and delivery of reliable and effective policy solutions to business requirements, managing to scheduled deadlines. The DMTS regularly leads teams and works independently, with occasional direction given on very complex issues. The DMTS is directly responsible for information security policy analysis, creation and consultation on implementation. Further duties include contributing to information security standards analysis, creation and implementation. Other duties shall include consultation for information security policy guideline creation and implementation. Incumbent shall be a contributing member of setting the Verizon Information Security policy roadmap to better protect Verizon's assets against loss or misuse. The DMTS shall understand information security policy trends using industry sources and advise management on areas and directions not contained within Verizon information security. Incumbent shall regularly review current policy for effectiveness and advise management of variance. JOB REQUIREMENTS --------------------------------------------------- Required Skills & Experience: Experience performing policy gap analysis and writing security policies, preferably for a large organization (over 20,000 employees). Experience developing data classification schemes and information security governance policies. Knowledge of International, Federal, State, and Local information security and privacy regulations. Very strong written and verbal communications skills and an ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences. Advanced security certification (CISSP, CISM, CISA, or GIAC) Demonstrated project management skills, including working with a diverse team, developing staff, managing project budgets and developing and maintaining strong client relationships Familiarity with IT frameworks, such as ISO, COBIT, COSO, ITIL, ITGI Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
