--------------------------------------------------- SECURITYFOCUS JOBS - NEW OPPORTUNITY --------------------------------------------------- JOB DESCRIPTION --------------------------------------------------- Position: Sales Engineer Location: Washington, District of Columbia, United States Type: Permanent F/T Closing Date: 2008-10-13 Scope of Role: The Sales Engineer is primarily responsible for the development, design and implementation of our client’s security solutions involving multiple security products integrating with other vendor solutions. They will provide support to the Federal sales team in defining strategies for successful sales and implementations of solutions in a broad range of applications including authentication, access control and data encryption solutions. In addition, they will be expected to present to federal customers (including; development staff, CxO’s, analysts and partners) information concerning the technical and business benefits of our client’s security solution. JOB REQUIREMENTS --------------------------------------------------- Requirements: 5+ years selling into federal government organizations. Proven success in presenting solutions in high pressure environments. Ability to understand and solve complex technical challenges. Self motivated to follow customer questions to closure. Ability to drive RFP/RFI/Government Validation response process. Proven experience in developing data security solutions leveraging encryption technology. General knowledge of industry regulations and compliance concerns (e.g. PCI, SOX, HIPAA) as well as specific internal federal government requirements (FIPS,HSPD-12, etc.). Technical Skills: Strong knowledge in PKI (MSFT, Entrust, etc.). Strong understanding/knowledge of standard encryption API capabilities (JCE, PKCS#11, MS CAPI). Demonstrable experience in software engineering/programming (C, C++, Java, etc.). Familiar with encryption key management requirements. Strong knowledge of Networking and Security infrastructure devices and applications (e.g. firewalls, IPS/IDS, VPN, IP Networking, etc…). Good knowledge of Enterprise Applications (e.g. operating systems, standard business applications, web-based applications, etc…). Some exposure to storage solutions including awareness of storage area network and storage device technology (Tape and/or Disk) a plus. BS/BA Degree Security related certifications preferred (CISSP, etc.).
