--------------------------------------------------- SECURITYFOCUS JOBS - NEW OPPORTUNITY --------------------------------------------------- JOB DESCRIPTION --------------------------------------------------- Position: Security Engineer Location: New york, New York, United States Type: Contract Closing Date: 2008-10-18 Network and company currently has a 12+ month contract position for a Network Security Engineer located in NYC. rate is open. Position Summary Reporting to the North American Director of Infrastructure Technology/Director of Technology East, the person will be responsible for the network and security of the region. This position will reside in New York with travel to branch offices as needed. Position Details • The primary role is that of designing, implementing, and supporting the North American Network and Security architecture. This includes both LAN and WAN with emphasis on MPLS architecture. • Managing North American network and security staff • Participating with the Global Security Team in developing a security strategy and roadmap while ensuring that projects are implemented in a timely and effective manner. • Monitoring firewall and intrusion detection system logs for malicious activity and attack patterns. • Maintaining and promoting security and networking policies and procedures, in addition to participating in regular network and security assessments and audits. • Work in a Technical Lead role within the Network Architecture team. • Demonstrate creativity, foresight, and mature architectural judgment in anticipating and solving unprecedented problems, program objectives and requirements, organizing activities, and developing standards and guidelines for diverse architectural activities. • Gather highly complex network requirements to be used in creating highly reliable and scalable network designs. • Produce detailed level design documents such as Visio diagrams, architecture definition documents, IP allocations, device descriptions and narratives describing the function of the design. • Configure and test networking equipment, in a lab environment. JOB REQUIREMENTS --------------------------------------------------- Requirements: • 5+ years of progressive experience in networking and network security including VOIP, VPN's, IP routing and L2 switching • 5+ years of experience with Cisco ASA, PIX, IDS, security management tools, and virus protection. • Experience in network design and implementation • Experience in QOS design and implementation • Vast array of technological experience is desired (e.g. SAN’s, Servers, Blade Technologies, SQL etc.). • Current experience with the integration of numerous disparate systems/technologies is a plus. • Must have excellent oral/communication skills as well as strong presentation skills. • Experience in BGP and OSPF • Experience in MPLS network design • Expert level network documentation skills including master skills with MS Visio • Strong project and leadership skills • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Possess knowledge of common exploits, vulnerabilities and counter measures. • Proven business skills including: self-motivation, forecasting and planning. • Up to 15% travel may be required Preferred Qualifications: CISSP, SSCP, GIAC, or other relevant certifications preferred but not necessary If Interested, Please send your resume to [email protected] CONTACT --------------------------------------------------- E-mail your resume and rate to [email protected] Network & Company John Melone Senior IT recruiter [email protected] --------------------------------------------------- SECURITYFOCUS JOBS --------------------------------------------------- SecurityFocus now offers an online interface for searching and managing job opportunities and resumes. http://www.securityfocus.com/jobs
