Network Specialist (Security Event Information Management Specialist)

BASIC FUNCTIONS:
This position is responsible for the engineering and 2nd – 3rd level support of
HCSC Security Event Information Management (SIEM) Infrastructure. This person will be responsible for the following functions: specifications, design and analyses of SIEM infrastructure architecture; Lead development and implementation of new security technology and systems; Establishing and maintaining security policy, standards and practices; Perform and lead development of enhanced security event collection; Provide 2nd – 3rd level security incident investigation and liaison to Incident Response Office or customers; Lead in all internal interactions for supporting the SIEM. 

Additional responsibilities include managing repair of services, researching new technology, risk assessment, and vulnerability mitigation. Other duties include leading operational surveillance and investigation of the infrastructure for fault recognition and security vulnerabilities, implementation of technology and systems, and contributing to establishing and maintaining security standards using best practices. Documentation of infrastructure security environment and activities. Comply with HIPAA, Diversity Principles, Corporate Integrity and Compliance Program policies.



JOB REQUIREMENTS

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
1.) Bachelor’s degree with 4 years experience with Infrastructure Security experience or 6 years of Infrastructure Security experience; 2.) Demonstrated experience with ArchSight; 3.) Demonstrated experience with application development with one or more of the following languages:  Java, C++, C#, or Visual Basic; 3.) Demonstrated experience with IT security migration factors; 4.) Demonstrated experience with Relational Database Management Systems (Oracle, MS SQL Server 2005, Postgres, etc); 5.) Ability to design and recommend solutions or processes and 6.) Working knowledge of Micrsoft Windows, Novell, Unix and Linux. 

PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS:

1.)Demonstrated experience with three or more of the following specific abilities: DB Design to 3NF, DB skills (KDD, DM, OLAP, DB programming),  CS skills (HCI, Patterns, Informatics, etc.), Departmental Application Design/ Development, Crystal Reports, Solution Design Methodology Management, Project Technical Leadership & Some Management Skills, Security Policy Implementation, Security Auditing, Security Hardening techniques for Servers and Desktops, Network Scanning Tools, Protocol scanners, Security Devices (VPNs, Firewalls, F5 Load Balancers, SourceFire, etc.), Penetration Testing, Ethical Hacker Certification, Wireless Networking Security, Working knowledge of TCP/IP protocol, Ethernet Topology and Packet Tracing,  Forensic Analysis Skills, IDS Monitoring & Event Correlation, Enterasys Dragon and  Sentinel 2.) Preference will be given to candidates with additional years experience with the Required Skills and / or Preferred Skills.
