Multiple versions of libnet?

I have ran into an interesting situation.  I have a 
number of tools I would like to use that require 
libnet to be installed.  However, some of them 
require version 1.02 and some require 1.1x. 
 
My question is, is there a way to have both versions 
installed on the machine?  I know that the new 
version is not backwards compatible with the older 
version, so I thought it might be possible to have 
both installed.  If it is possible, what do I need to 
do?
