ipv6, again

When an application attempts to reverse resolve an IPv6 host, it appears
it tries to do so in the .ip6.int domain first, failing that, it will
then try ip6.arpa. What I'd like to know is what is responsible for
querying in .ip6.int domain first, the application, or glibc?

With .ip6.int in the midst of becoming deprecated, I'm wondering if I
need to update/upgrade something in order to change the above described
behaviour, thanks.
