detached scans and email reports

I'd like to modify the code s.t. a user can choose to have an .nbe file emailed to them as a results of a detached scan. I've found the various bits and pieces of code in the nessusd tree where the email gets sent, tmp files associated with a process, etc. but I can't seem to find the following: - where/how the results file that is emailed is generated. - where the plugin results are recorded/collected before the results file is generated.
