One of the possible solutions is to add more documentation, and
split the huge options panel into multiple tabbed forms.

Sure, something absolutely that we could do. But I'd prefer advocating
suggestions and improvements to the core project than forking off
a separate project with improvements and fixes that then don't get
added back in.
