I believe that the correct way to do this with MacOS is not to use the GUI, as the registration email suggests, but to run /Library/Nessus/run/bin/nessus-fetch --register with the new code - at least, that's what I tried after some digging and it appears to be working. If that's so, perhaps it should be added to the feed FAQ (and maybe the registration email), and if not, could the list be told the correct way?
