Hi,
It seems that 3.24 had a nasty last-minute bug that crept in, causing it to
crash when unlocking or switching databases. The good news is that this was
promptly reported, and a fix is now available in release 3.24.1.
Thanks to donw146, gillum, john886 and mrttoo for reporting the problem in
an effective manner, and to DK for his quick fix.
(The problem was Windows-specific - the Linux version is unaffected)
