Laurent, Rony,

Note:

"Uninstall" may no longer be appropriate in a "Non-registry" disk-on-key
installation!

If the PWS has been installed using the registry and sometime later changed
to not, then there is nothing to remove from the registry. And of course
vice versa. And what about on a multi-user PC (I know that the cfg file is
in the same directory as the program)? Also, should uninstall leave the cfg
file their in case they re-install and want their previous values?

Hi Laurent,

Thanks for the update. For release 3.05, we're making some changes that you
should probably want to take into account:

1. We've moved to MSVS2005. This means that the redistributable dlls are now
*80* instead of *71* 2. The installation-related scripts have been moved to
their own subdirectory, 'install'. This means that paths to the components
will probably need to be changed.
3. The NSIS install script now offers the user an option of selecting a
"green" installation, which doesn't write to the target machine's registry
(preferences will be kept in a ".cfg" file instead. This also means that to
uninstall, the user just needs to delete the installation directory. This is
meant for folks who want passwordsafe on a disk-on-key, without touching the
host's registry.
4. The NSIS install script now offers to configure passwordsafe to start
upon user login, installing a shortcut to the Startup folder if selected.

Let me know if you want to update your script to take the above into
account, or if you'd like me to commit it 'as-is' with a note that it's
updated for 3.04. If you wish, I can send you a snapshot of the current code
base.

	Cheers,

		Rony

Subject: [Passwordsafe-devel] New version of Password Safe setup with Inno

Hello everyone,

I submitted last June a new Password Safe setup using Inno Setup. The main
benefits of this contribution are:

- silent/unattended setup using a previously made answer file.
- setup is done for all users and not only the current user
- a file association is created for .psafe3 extension.

I'm attaching an update which now may eventually be included in the build
process using "make". See in the attached Makefile.Release the
"installable-iss" target.

This new version doesn't need any more to be modified for each new release
to change the version constant.

A build made from 3.0.4 binary distribution is available at
