  7-Zip ARJ Archive Buffer Overflow

SUMMARY

" <http://www.7-zip.org/> 7-Zip is a file archiver with high compression 
ratio."

7-Zip vulnerable to a buffer overflow that allow attackers to execute 
arbitrary code by sending the victim a malicious .ARJ archive file.

DETAILS

Vulnerable Systems:
 * 7-Zip version 3.13
 * 7-Zip version 4.23
 * 7-Zip version 4.26 BETA

Immune Systems:
 * 7-Zip version 4.27 BETA

The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error when handling an ARJ 
block that is larger than 2600 bytes. This can be exploited to cause a 
stack-based buffer overflow when a specially crafted ARJ file is opened.

Successful exploitation allows arbitrary code execution.
